Kristy is the Executive Director for Chico Hillel. She started working with the students as a part-time director and was later promoted to a full time position supported by a private donor. She is an alumna of CSU, Chico and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Sciences. Her life is guided by education, mentoring and maintaining a flexible schedule. She has had several interesting professions over the last decade and thinks of Hillel as her dream job. Kristy is passionate for all things student related and is committed to continuous learning in her own Judaism.
She has an extensive background in customer service, time management and people skills. She accepts challenges and creates solutions looking for lessons for self improvement. Kristy is a "yes" person and receives daily gifts, opportunities and adventures because of her positive "can do" attitude! She loves to travel, socialize and ride her cruiser bike around her beloved town of Chico.
Kristy is currently focused on developing programs within her four initiatives (HillelWell, Find You, Shabbat experiences and Antisemitism Awareness). When she is not working directly with students she is planning her statewide tour to discover more donors who share her passion for student wellness and who have the capacity to increase our overall revenue so that she can have a permanent co-staff to help the efforts to expand Chico Hillel on campus and to inspire more students!

If you don't find Chelsea at Hillel, she's either on her bike, or hanging out on the couch on a Zoom chat with her cat in her lap. Chelsea graduated from American University in DC in 2009 and has spent the last 10 years working and living in Israel. After graduation Chelsea made Aliyah with Garin Tzabar to draft into the IDF to serve a full service in the the highest level co-ed combat unit, Karkal. Since her release, she continued to serve in the resevers in the Emergency Search and Rescue unit, Pikud Ha'orf.
In regular civilian life, Chelsea has worked on many peace building projects and with youth around the country. Chelsea's side job and additional passion is fitness. She's been a CrossFit coach and personal trainer for 7 years and has always loved helping people make their own lives easier through strength and encouragement.
This last year in Chico was an amazing transition back to life in the USA, coming back to her California roots, and bringing her experiences and love of all things Israel has been like no other! The Fall of 2020 semester is going to be a change for all of the Chico campus and students. Chelsea looks forward to adapting with the whole community to make sure all of Chico has the most meaningful semester possible.
