Shabbat Celebrations
Just like everything else we do, our Shabbat offerings have a Chico-style casualness led by students for students with the main focus centering around socializing with friends!
Join us for our monthly Shabbat celebrations on the first Friday of each month when school is in session. So that we can accommodate larger groups our locations rotate between student and fancy faculty homes along with campus spaces. We like to mix it up so check out our calendar for more information.
Each month, we create unique Shabbat dinner themes coinciding with the Jewish calendar as well as classic American traditions like delicious Bar-B-Q's. It is important that our Hillel hosts such traditional events with a twist, as the local Chabad house serves Shabbat dinners weekly. Chico Hillel understands the importance of offering an additional location for students on campus. Our group prides itself on creating opportunities to experience community and togetherness surrounding food and customs. We offer Shabbat dinners to our students and welcome them to bring their friends to share in the most significant cornerstone of Judaism, the mitzvah of Shabbat.
Many thanks to the Men of Reform Judaism and your Tikkun Olam grant called Reform on Campus. Your generous funds help us to provide monthly Shabbat dinners to our students! Todah Rabah!!
